Car rental New Zealand- Campervan Hire - Motorhome

Car rental New Zealand- Campervan Hire - Motorhome
Campervan Hire - Motorhome, 4WD Camper and RV Specialists NZ Wide
Campervan and Motorhome Hire
Low-Budget Backpacker Camper Hire
4WD Camper Hire
Car Hire
A campervan for two to a 6 berth luxury motorhome for a family – you will find it here.

Campervan and motorhome hire is available from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.

Motorhome and Campervan Hire Advice.
Book Early
What is the most important advice we can offer anyone wanting to do a motorhome or campervan hire in New Zealand? - Book Early!!! And by 'early' we mean several months in advance; the busier the period, such as Christmas/New Year, the earlier you will need to book.

Every year we see the same thing repeated over and over again; people leave it too late to book their campervan hire – especially during busy periods. This leaves many people disappointed and frustrated that a suitable vehicle is no longer available.

Even though the entire fleet of campervans and motorhomes available for rental in New Zealand is very large, they will all get booked out during busy periods such as Christmas, New Year, Easter and school holidays. Larger motorhomes that are popular with families are the first to go and then 3 and 4 berth motorhomes are next to be booked out. A New Zealand campervan or motorhome holiday is becoming more and more popular each year.

Allow Enough Time
Although New Zealand may appear to be a small country there is still a lot to see so when planning a motorhome or campervan holiday consideration must be given to the distance travelled each day. For example if you have limited time you may be better to plan to see one Island properly rather than rush and try and see both. You can always return another time!

Vehicle Brief
Before departing on your campervan hire a vehicle briefing will take place that will demonstrate the features available. This particularly applies to the use of the toilet and shower facilities that many people may not have any previous experience with. Modern motorhome toilets are very simple to operate utilising an easily removed, enclosed cassette style system.

Renting a Car? Safety Tips to Keep in Mind!

If you're traveling by plane in the coming months, chances are you'll be renting a car when you land. Driving an unfamiliar vehicle in an unfamiliar city can be stressful. But with a little foresight, you can be prepared and relaxed.

Before You Go

Your safety preparations should begin when making your rental reservations. While you want to get a good deal, you also want a good car. Web sites such as that operated by Consumer Reports can provide information on car safety ratings. Your insurance company may also have safety statistics on various makes and models, says Jeff Beyer, senior vice president and chief communications officer of Farmers Insurance.

Rent a car that is suited to your needs. If you are traveling with a family of four and lots of luggage, a compact car may not have enough room. Also, make any special requests when you arrange your reservation. For example, if you know you will need a child's car seat for your two-year-old, be sure to reserve one early -- don't expect one to be available on the spur of the moment when you arrive to pick up your car.

You'll also want to check with your insurance company to find out how your coverage works for rented cars, says Beyer. Find out if your insurance will cover service calls on rental cars, and ask your agent if you will need to buy any supplemental insurance from the car rental company. By doing a little research before you leave on your trip, you may be able to save money by not purchasing unnecessary and overly expensive insurance through the car rental company, he adds. Some credit cards also provide supplementary insurance if you use them to pay for the car rental. Check with your credit card company for specifics.

When You Pick Up Your Car

Check the contract to make sure you're getting the rate and the car you were promised when you made the reservation. Ask the agent what to do if the car breaks down. If you're not sure how to get to your destination, request a map and driving directions from the agent.

Once at the car, do a quick check for any damage; if you spot anything significant, call it to the attention of the rental company before you take the car off the lot, so you won't be penalized for damage you didn't cause.

Before You Leave the Lot

Familiarize yourself with the car: be sure you know how to work the headlights, turn signals and interior lights. Check the windshield wipers to make sure they work and that there is washer fluid; you don't want to get caught in rain or snow with bad wipers.

Adjust the seat and mirrors. Check the seatbelts; is there one for every passenger? Are they easy to latch and unlatch? If you like to listen to the radio as you drive, tune in a local station that meets your tastes before you hit the road.

Enjoy Your Visit

Because rental cars are attractive targets for thieves, remove all valuables from the car when it is parked, if possible. If you have to leave your luggage or other property in the car, lock it in the trunk, out of sight.

By planning ahead and taking a few easy precautions, renting a car will be easy. Now if you can just fit all those gifts into your luggage for the return trip home.

Reasons To Rent A Luxury Exotic Sports Car

Reasons To Rent A Luxury Exotic Sports Car
By: Jona
Face it, you need some excitement in your life. You work hard so indulge yourself a little bit, it’s time to play hard too. It’s going to be a long year with a lot of business to get done, and now you need to reward yourself. But how?

Rent yourself an exotic sports car. No, really! It’s not as expensive as you might think. Maybe you’re just not quite in a position to go out and purchase that hot little European sports car that you’ve been looking at longingly since you were old enough to drive, but why not treat yourself to it for just a few days, maybe a week, maybe an entire week of vacation.

Or just maybe you have a new client coming into your office sometime in the near future and you need to impress them. You just want to go that extra mile with something they’re not expecting, and even if they don’t remember your sales pitch or your presentation, they are sure to remember that car you were driving when you picked them up at the airport.

Don’t be boring! Yes, a late model Toyota or Chevy, or even up to the next level of a Cadillac or Lincoln Town Car makes a statement, whether for business or pleasure, but make sure the statement you make has an exclamation point at the end of it – drive up in a Hummer, a BMW, a Jaguar, or maybe even a Porsche or a Lamborghini. Even your biggest business clients are likely to have never taken a ride in one of those babies.

On your next business or vacation trip, just try it. Rent a luxury or sports car instead. Many of the shops that rent these types of vehicles will be able to provide exactly what you are looking for, whether you are trying to impress your spouse, your significant other, or that very special business client where you need to make a great lasting impression. If they don’t have the vehicle that you have your heart set on, they are in this business, so can very likely refer you to a place that does have that vehicle.

Many of these shops understand that your rental of this luxury car or sports car is for a very special occasion, and can make arrangements to have flowers or a box of chocolates in the car when you are ready for it to make that iimpression.

Renting an exotic sports car is a good idea every now and then for a variety of reasons. Outside of the statement you are making for yourself, outside of maybe impressing your neighbors when they see that car parked in your driveway, outside of impressing that new business client, you are also rewarding yourself. It is amazing to find the amount of stress relief that renting a sports car can provide for many people. It makes them feel young again, especially if they lower the top on a convertible model and drive down the road with the sun shining and the breeze blowing through their hair.

Doing a sports car rental can be done at more places than you probably think. There are locations near most major airports that will do luxury car rentals and sports car rentals, and the pricing for your use of this 5 or 6-figure vehicle is probably less than you think.

Indulge yourself, you deserve it!

Dollar Saving Tips on your Next Car Rental

One of the biggest vacation expenses is a rental car. Below are a few suggestions on how you can save money on your next rental car.

If you are flying to your vacation destination and have booked the flight either online or through a travel agency, you can more than likely get a discount on your rental car if you book it as part of the package. The majority of car rental companies collaborate with at least one airline to provide frequent flyer miles or other types of rewards when you rent a car. In addition, many airlines offer incentive and bonus programs where you get extra miles or extra credit, so be sure to inquire about these programs when making your reservation.

When choosing your rental car, a compact or subcompact economy car is usually less expensive than a full size sedan or minivan. Therefore, selecting an economy will not only be less expensive, but you will also get better gas mileage thus saving on gas expenses.

If you need a large sedan, SUV or minivan for the comfort of your family, it is well worth your time to shop around. There is usually a high demand for these types of vehicles and therefore a larger price tag. Travel related web sites are a good place to start your research to familiarize yourself with the average price in your vacation area.

The duration of the rental will have an influence on the cost as well. Weekly rentals are usually far less costly than a daily rate spread over a week. Therefore, if your vacation plans are for a week or more, be sure to inquire about special rates. If you are taking a weekend vacation, many companies offer weekend specials on certain makes and models of their cars.

In addition, a number of national car companies and local smaller companies rent their used cars for much less than a new car from a rental agency. In most instances, these cars are only a few years old and provide the same protection as a new car.

For the business traveler, joining a frequent renter club, or using the same rental car company each time, is a great way to get some special coupons and some very good deals that you could use for the family vacation.

Most people purchase car insurance from the rental agency. Usually, this is not necessary. If you have purchased your rental car on your credit car, you may already have coverage as part of your credit card plan. In addition, as an automobile owner, you car insurance may provide coverage for rental cars. Therefore, it is necessary for you to check your credit card plan and automobile insurance, if you are covered, then purchasing insurance from the rental car agency is not necessary.

Getting The Best Price On A Car Rental

Vacations are expensive; there is no doubt about it. But, when we have the opportunity to save money, we should jump at it. Car rentals are just the right way to save some money this vacation season. Sure, we all want to get off the plane and grab a great looking car, but if you can do this and save some money, who’s going to complain? Here are some hints and tips to keep you saving money on your next trip or whenever you need a car rental.

· Book them ahead of time. This is essential to saving money. If you plan to get off the plane and into a car, you will pay more, much more. Instead, get online and simply look for the best deal available. No more hassle than waiting in line at the car rental shop. You can choose just what you want and get a better price.

· Consider your need. There isn’t one of us that wouldn’t want to drive around all day in a luxury car, but if you plan to go sight seeing in that, how much time will you spend in the car in all reality? Most likely, you’ll be out of the car most of the time. It just makes sense to get an affordable car and pocket the extra money. A luxury car is just prone to be stolen too.

· The best way to get the best price on your car rental is to book online. Not just in advance, but online. Here’s the reason. When you book online, there are less people involved, less mistakes made and less overhead for the company. That helps to keep prices low. This savings can be passed on to you.

Car rentals are just one aspect of vacationing. They can be quite costly, but, they don’t have to be such a burden. You can drive around in a great looking car at a great price. Save that money for the vacation itself!

Car Rental for Under 19's

In most countries, car rental companies only cater for drivers that are older than 21 or 23 years of age. Even in South Africa it can be quite difficult to get a company that does’nt wrinkle their noses at younger drivers.

Why on earth do we qualify for licenses once we reach the age of eighteen? I’ve asked this question numerous times over the years.
I think the fact that its so hard to rent a car if your under-21 can be compared to the same reasoning applied to car insurance. The younger you are the more you pay. And, if you are under 25 then your payments per month are particularly more than someone of lets say 30 years of age.

As far as I know, it’s because there’s a larger risk involved with younger drivers. The high accident rate obtained by some reckless under 21 drivers has caused young drivers from all over immense distress.

For tourists, students and anyone under 21, travelling can be quite an issue. A country like South Africa for instance has barely any form of decent affordable public transport. A private taxi is very highly priced, trains are dangerous and local minivan taxi’s are generally overcrowded.

Now where will you find reliable, affordable transport?

Browsing the Internet I found very few car rental sites who considered renting cars to people under 21. Eventually I found one specific site who took under 21’s into consideration.

I could barely believe it! A car hire company who trusts someone under the age of 25? Even better- a car rental company who caters for under 21’s, under 20’s AND under 19’s!

I was quickly inspecting the website, trying to find some or other catch somewhere in the text. Nothing. They have one or two specific requirements and that’s it.

They even state that they will meet all your car rental requirements and rent you a car that’s affordable, reliable and economical. Being economical is quite important as South Africa has been hit by numerous petrol hikes in the last couple of months.

As an added bonus, you can collect and drop off your car almost anywhere in South Africa. Not only do you get unlimited kilometres and insurance, you can also cross the South African border into neighboring countries.

SO if you have a valid drivers license, a clean record and your 18 years or older, you can relax! Whenever you need a car rental in South Africa you will be able to get it. Under 19, 20 or 21’s rest assured!

Car Rental on Vacation

The most common time a person will rent a car is when on vacation. If you fly to your vacation destination, bringing your car with you is simply not an option. Some areas have public transportation you can use, but getting a taxi service every time you want to go out is not only an added expensive, but also an impracticality. Unless you intend to explore the same area each and every day of your vacation, you are going to need a rental car.

Because so many travelers turn to car rental, most of the country’s airports have car rental companies that are stationed right inside the airport. Airport car rental is a convenient option for travelers. You can make your reservations before you arrive, and your car is waiting for you when you get to your destination. All you do is sign a few pieces of paperwork, pay for the rental car, and away you go! Airport car rental is becoming almost a necessity for travelers, as more and more people are flying to their vacation destinations. If you are planning on taking advantage of airport car rental on your next vacation, remember to check with the airport to see all of the car rental companies they have. Explore your options so that you can get the best price on your rental car.

Car Rental Reimbursement

1. What is Rental Reimbursement?
An auto accident can happen at any time and anywhere. Having auto insurance is extremely important to getting your vehicle fixed. But what if you won’t have a vehicle for awhile while the repairs are being made? That is where having rental reimbursement insurance comes in handy. Rental insurance is not only convenient, but can save you money on car rentals.

Rental reimbursement is offered through almost every auto insurance company. It is always an optional insurance, which means you will pay more for it in your premium. However, the price is minimum compared to what renting a car will be while yours is being fixed. When you are selecting rental insurance, make sure to think about the size and model of the vehicle you would need, especially if you have a large family and need to have a lot of room.

In most cases, the deductible on your own insurance policy would have to be paid if you are involved in an accident in the rental car. After that is paid, the insurance will cover the rest. This will include the use of a rental car, usually for a set period of time. Talk to your insurance company to understand how long you can rent a car for if needed, and just what your rental insurance covers.
2. Rental Insurance
There are many questions one may have when driving a rental vehicle. Insurance is an important factor to consider when driving a rental car. Most people want to know whether they need to have insurance when they drive a rental car or truck. Many times it depends on how much insurance you have on your own vehicle. Most of the time, having coverage and deductibles on your own vehicle will be enough to cover a rental car. You will need to talk to your insurance carrier to see just how much they will cover. Typically, having comprehensive and collision on your auto will cover a rental vehicle that becomes damaged in an accident. Make sure to find out if the collision coverage on your own auto insurance policy will also cover a rental.

With all insurance coverage, there are specific lengths of time that you can rent a vehicle and still receive rental reimbursement. Your contract will state just how long this may be. It can depend on what happens to your car, as well; if it is being fixed, if it was totaled or if it was stolen. Talk to your insurance company or check your contract to find out the length of time you will have to rent a vehicle. Most companies allow a generous amount of time to rent a vehicle while yours is being fixed.

Car Rental,Cost of Renting a Car

There is no cut and dried cost to car rental. Your cost will be based on several factors. First, the car you choose will affect the cost. Typically, the larger the car, the more it costs to rent. If you need to rent a van or SUV, for example, you will pay more than for a compact car.

Remember to consider the size of the people and their luggage when you choose a car. It can be tempting to pick an economy sized car to save some money, but you want to make sure you will not be driving down the road with a suitcase in your lap! Only rent the car that has the size you need, and you will be fine.

Another thing that can affect your cost is any extras you want in the car. Some car rental companies will loan you car seats, DVD players, and GPS systems. This is great, but they cost extra. Only rent them if you need them.

Finally, check on the mileage requirements for your rental car. Most car rental companies have a mileage limit on their cars. If you drive over the mileage limit for your rental time, you will be charged a per-mile fee. This can be quite steep.

Choosing a Car Rental Company

Most consumers choose their car rental company based on which one has the most affordable rate. This can be a good way to choose, but there are some other things you want to consider when making the decision as to which company to rent a car from. First, make sure the car rental company you are considering is reliable and has a good reputation. This is important, because you will likely pay for your rental car with your credit card, and if the company claims you damaged the car they can charge you. Also, you want to make sure you will be getting a reliable car, and this is certain when you choose a reliable car rental company.

Next, check the terms and conditions the company has for their car rental services. Make sure there are no hidden fees or clauses that you may want to avoid. Also, check the minimum age requirement if you are younger than thirty. Most car rental companies will have a minimum age. You can usually rent a car if you are younger than this age, but you will be paying extra.

Another consideration is whether or not the car rental company has a variety of vehicle sizes for you to choose from. If you are traveling with your family, for example, you may want a van or large sedan rather than a compact car. Make sure that there is a wide range of vehicles to choose from so you will get one that meets your needs. In addition, if you are in need of car seats for your kids, look for a car rental company that offers these services.

Process of Renting a Car

Car rental is a pretty standard process. No matter which car rental company you choose, you will go through the same basic procedures to rent a car. Renting a car starts with making reservations. Once you have chosen a car rental company, you will call the company to make your reservations. Tell them the day you need to start renting the car and the day you will be returning it to them. Each day you have the car will be a charge, even if you have it for only a couple of hours, so you need to think about these arrangements as you book your rental car.

You will have to make rental car reservations with a credit card. There are two reasons for this. First, if you do not end up picking up the car, you will be charged a fee. Also, if you damage the car or do not hold up your end of the rental agreement, they will charge your credit card for damages. This saves them from losing thousands of dollars should you total the car or decide to drive off with it. If you do not have a credit card, you will need to get one in order to rent a car.

The day you are renting your car you will come to the car rental company’s office. In the case of airport car rental, this may be nothing more than a counter at the airport. You will present your driver’s license and credit card to the company. Many times they will run a quick credit check, and then they will hand you the keys to your car. The car will have a full tank of gas, and you will be able to drive away and enjoy your vacation. When you are done, you will return the rental car and keys to the location you rented the car from. Some national rental car companies will allow you to return cars at other locations, but this is not always the case. Remember to return the car with a full tank of gas, otherwise you will be charged a high price for the fuel the car rental company puts in the car.

rental car,Before You Drive Away

Before You Drive Away
Before you drive away in your rental car, there are some things you need to do. First, inquire with the car rental company about the possibility of getting some free maps. They usually are quite willing to provide you with maps of the area. Next, check the car to make sure the gas tank is full. If it isn’t, you need to make sure you are given money or credit for the gas you put into the car. The car should be full when you drive off the lot with it.

If you are not married and your traveling companion is going to drive, you will want to make sure that the rental car company knows this. Any drivers who will operate the rental car will need to be on the rental agreement. This saves you from liability if one of these people is driving and there is an accident.

Inspect the car thoroughly for scratches, dents, and other damage. Make sure any damage you see is listed on the rental agreement, in writing. Car rental companies will charge your credit card for damage you cause, so you want any previous damage listed on the agreement to keep you from being liable for it. If something doesn’t look safe, as for a different car.

Before you start driving, make sure you know where all the important buttons are. You do not want to be driving down the highway in an unfamiliar location and not know how to turn the windshield wipers on! Once you have checked all of these things, you are ready to enjoy your rental car!

Saving Money on Car Rental

At this point you are probably wondering what you can do to save money on your rental car. There are several steps to take to save money on car rental. First, if you are in a discount club, such as AAA, check with that club to see what car rental deals they offer. If you rent cars often, check with your favorite rental car company to see if they offer “frequent renter” programs.

Another way to get a discount when you rent a car is to ask for one! When you are shopping around to see who has the best deal, as the rental agent if he or she can get you a better deal than what you have seen advertised. You will be surprised how often the answer is yes, particularly if they think you are going to take your business elsewhere.

Booking ahead of time will save you money. Keep in mind that car rental prices change almost daily. Watch the price on the Internet to see what your chosen car rental company is offering the week you need the car. When you feel it is an affordable price, make your reservations!

The smaller car you rent, the less it will cost. Make sure you only rent the size of car you actually need. Also, decline extra services that you don’t really need. Finally, compare the difference between daily and weekly rates. Sometimes you can save money if you rent a car for a whole week rather than, say, four or five days.

What About Car Rental Insurance?

Your car rental company will try to sell you car rental insurance. This insurance insures you against the possibility of any accident that happens while you are driving a rental car. When you rent a car this is a good thing to have, but before you pay for it, check what insurance you already have.

Many personal car insurance providers cover damage that occurs when the driver is in a rental car. Before you pay for car rental insurance, check with your insurance provider to see if you have this coverage. Also, many of the major credit card companies insure cars rented using their cards. If your insurance company does not cover your rental, check with your credit card company.

If you find that neither your insurance company or your credit card cover rental car insurance, you may want to consider purchasing it. Yes, it is an added fee, but if you wreck the car you are renting without insurance, you will have to pay for the car. Also, if a person is injured due to your driving the rental car, you will be liable. It is better to be covered.
